Self-Assessment
Language and Culture
I speak both Spanish and English equally fluently, however, I am more proficient in written English than in written Spanish. My spoken and written French is limited. Language, to me, is the pillar of communication. It is not only what you say but how you day it and I aim to master communication in French.
I was raised in a non-traditional Mexican family with American influences, thus I identify with Mexican culture as well as the indeterminate American culture. At school I have many friends of different ethnicities and culture, but the differences have never been very crucial. I am always intrigued when crossing paths with other cultures and am always exited to learn about them.
I've never formally studied other languages but Spanish, English and French but have explored Italian and German because of their close relations with Spanish and English respectively. In Language Development I will be studying and improving French.
I hope to later use my target language as a humanitarian in impoverish countries since French in a common language used in humanitarian aid.
